Katy Perry drops $1500 in latest Brisbane shopping spree Amy Price, The Courier-Mail August 14, 2018 1:50pm POP star Katy Perry splashed some cash at a Brisbane antique store on Saturday. The American singer spent more than an hour browsing Camp Hill Antique Centre, where she spent about $1500 on accessories, including an antique ring, gloves and a handbag. Store manager Sarah Jane Walsh said Perry had driven past the store during her trip to Westfield Carindale on Friday, and asked a member of her entourage to take a photograph. She then returned on Saturday, following her final Brisbane show on Friday night, and browsed the antique clothing and jewellery sections of the store. Perry picked up the antique art deco ring, which cost a little over $1000, as well as 1950s gloves and a red silk handbag from the 1960s. “She was very friendly. She was trying to keep low-key,” Ms Walsh said. “She tried to come in looking not suspicious and incognito, but she was wearing a full-length black jacket so she actually stood out even more. “She spent around $1500 all up.” Clearly on the prowl for vintage goods, Perry had dropped by Lil J’s Vintage store during a trip to Brunswick St in Fortitude Valley on Thursday. And she also soaked up the sunshine in southeast Queensland, earlier whale-watching and snorkelling at Mooloolaba and visiting Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
